Accommodations

The Bluesland Embassy was built in 1911 as a vacation cottage for a deep-pocketed Philadelphia family - one of the original settlers at this well-known resort community. The house is on the National Register of Historic Places.

The main floor consists of the living room, dining room and kitchen. A massive picture window faces due east and is reputed to offer one of the top ten views in the Poconos. A large deck outside the window overlooks the gardens. The kitchen is thoroughly modern, furnished with GE Monogram appliances and non-toxic non-stick cookware. Two sets of china, glassware and cutlery will serve parties of six and twelve. Barware is configured for parties up to twenty-four.

Upstairs are three bedrooms and two full bathrooms. Each bedroom has a high-definition smart TV with cable and Internet access. A continental breakfast is served at the top of the stairs. Two of the bedrooms have their own porches - a fine place to have coffee and read the newspaper as the sun rises. The Embassy can comfortably accommodate six overnight guests. An additional four or five can crash on the sofas, if necessary. There are three upstairs bedrooms:

  • LeMans - queen bed and a single daybed, decorated with LeMans racing memorabilia
  • Monaco - queen bed for two, decorated with Monaco Grand Prix racing memorabilia
  • Eyston - twin bed and trundle, with memorabilia related to the career of British racer and world speed record Capt. George E. T. Eyston.

Downstairs, one finds the Office, the TV room, and the Workout Zone. Each is equipped with high-definition TVs with cable and Internet service. An impressive collection of DVD movies and music CDs are at hand. Just outside, under the deck, is the plant nursery. Under cultivation are rare and unusual ferns, ivies, hostas, and fuschias.

Embassy guests are provided with all meals and adult beverages. The chef and his assistant will take your orders from 6am to 9pm and tend to cooking, cleaning, and housekeeping. A car and cheauffeur are also available.
